Our April STEM Circuit will be an interactive discussion about career options at the intersection of STEM and Law. Our invited speakers who have successfully navigated their career paths to best utilize the dual knowledge will share their stories and advice you do not want to miss!
Registration is complementary! Feel free to bring a friend or colleague and gain some perspective on science and law and how to refine your career objectives.

Panel of Speakers:
Monika Dudek, J.D. :VP Intellectual property, Trading Technologies. During her tenure with Trading Technologies, Monika has built and protected a vast portfolio of patents in the financial trading space. Monika received her JD from Depaul University College of Law and an Undergrad degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Electrical Engineering. Monika also is a co-founder and Chapter Leader of the Chicago Chapter of ChIPs (chipsnetwork.org) “a nonprofit organization that advances and connects women in technology, law and policy.”
Judy He, J.D. : Intellectual property attorney, Haynes and Boone, LLP. Judy He is an attentive advocate for her clients, and her background in chemistry and finance helps her pinpoint where science meets business. Her practice focuses on pharmaceutical Hatch-Waxman litigation in federal courts, such as the District of Delaware and the District of New Jersey, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Kevin Dam, J.D. : an intellectual property attorney. After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in biology he worked at INVO, Northwestern’s technology transfer office. At INVO, he worked with university faculty and students to protect inventions and commercialize research and technology. This work included managing patent portfolios, working with start-ups and investors, and negotiating with licensees and potential development partners. After graduating from Washington University School of Law, he joined Banner Witcoff, an intellectual property boutique law firm. At Banner, he provides legal counsel to clients on intellectual property-related matters. A focus of his work includes litigation to protect and enforce client intellectual property rights, including patents and trademarks.
Michelle Kilbane, J.D. : Manager– Forensic & Integrity Services, EY (Ernst & Young). Michelle is an experienced Manager with EY who uses her business expertise and legal background to consult for clients across a wide array of competencies, including Data Privacy, Regulatory Compliance, Legal Operations, among others. Michelle received her JD from the New England School of Law. She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).
